FROM ERIK'S DESK

We always recommend filing for trademark protection as soon as possible. But now that advice is even more imperative because (i) the backlog at the USPTO continues to cause unprecedented delays, and (ii) the USPTO has announced that it intends to raise many of trademark application filings fees next year. As a result, filing now will likely save money.

Regarding the details proposed fee increases, stay tuned here and on our social media channels (links below) for lots of news and developments. We are especially concerned about the impact on small businesses. We plan to submit comments to the USPTO detailing our concerns, as we have done in the past.
